about

Once upon a time, a hunter chanced upon a doe. A swift arrow found her heart, and soon thereafter, her life was forfeit. Alas, she left a fawn.
As the hunter was approaching the dying doe, a mighty call was heard in the forest. It was a stag, and it seemed golden in the setting sun.
The hunter hesitated, and then the stag charged.
The mighty antlers were lowered, the threat was fast approaching.
But before the hunter could ready another arrow, the stag snatched away the water skin carried by the hunter.
The stag hurried towards the shaking fawn, and behold! From the water skin came, not water, but doe's milk!
The fawn drank till its thirst was slaked, and then the stag and the fawn slowly wandered away into the forest.
The hunter looked in amazement at the water skin on the ground.
He turned his back on the scene and ran towards his home. What he saw never left his mind.

This is the legend of the Golden Stag. You may have heard about the well-known inn with the same name, in the city of Caemshron.
